4K+ resolution, DCI-P3 color space, and Displayed 400 certification make the huawei 4k monitor an excellent option for creative and professional users. With no Free Sync, fast refresh rate, or low reaction time to brag about, the Mate View is not aimed at gamers. Huawei has a specific Mate View GT model for that purpose instead. We’ll put Huawei’s claim to the test later in our study that each display is factory calibrated for color accuracy to the test. Additionally, the 28.2-inch screen has a 3:2 aspect ratio, making it ideal for working on larger projects.

Testing Huawei Mateview

Color fidelity is a central selling point for Huawei’s Mate View. DCI-P3 color space with a Delta less than two, and the option for 100 percent color space with a Delta of less than one, are on paper all that the monitor has to offer. With HDR400 certification and a peak brightness of 500 nits, this should be an excellent display for a wide variety of entertainment.

There is no doubt in my mind that the Huawei Mate View looks fantastic. Display edges are somewhat dimmed due to backlighting irregularities; however, overall, the LCD backlight is consistent. The colors are brilliant but realistic, and there are no noticeable blemishes or tints anywhere on the screen. Even when the brightness is cranked up, there are still some reflections from the glossy finish. The screen’s brightness ranges from 190 units to 500 nits. Reviews may be easily avoided simply by preventing light from shining directly behind the screen.

Design and Stand: How Do They Work?

It’s hard to argue with the Huawei Mate View’s aesthetic appeal. Silver has been sprayed to the aluminum alloy’s thin profile for further durability. Because of the 3:2 aspect ratio, there is enough screen real estate for pros to work with. NFC connection is included in the strong base, enabling wireless projection on Huawei devices compatible with it. The stand consists of two 5W speakers and two microphones. However, the narrow design means the speakers lack bass. They’re not going to appeal to movie or music buffs. The monitor’s stand features a cleverly integrated height-adjustable mount from Huawei. The adjustable height ranges from 7cm to 18cm, a difference of 11cm. It’s possible to adjust the hinge’s angle from -5 to 18 degrees.

What Ports Does the Monitor have?

The Huawei 4k monitor features all the ports you’d expect to see on a smartphone. HMDI, Mini Display Port, and USB-C are all options for connecting PCs. Except for the USB-C connection; all these ports are located on the device’s rear. USB-C ports on the bottom and the side are both utilized for charging; however, only the USB-C port on the back may assess the device. USB-C and MiniDP are the only two connectors that can run the 3,840 x 2,560 (3:2 4K) resolution at full 60Hz, but HDMI and Display Port are both supported. To maintain a 50Hz refresh rate, HDMI 2.0 has a bandwidth cap of 3,840 x 2,560. Gamers will be disappointed to see that neither G-Sync nor Free Sync is supported. The Huawei Mate View’s wireless display is an excellent option if you’d prefer not to be tethered to a cord. Windows PCs and laptops and some Huawei smartphones from the most recent generation allow wireless projection.

Final Verdict

In terms of aesthetics and functionality, the Huawei 4k monitor  is a superb monitor. This monitor is perfect for an office environment because of the 3:2 4K+ aspect ratio and the built-in height adjustment. In addition, the Smart Bar is a handy feature. I’m not a fan of the Huawei share and wireless display features, but some might be. Unfortunately, our results on image quality didn’t precisely match Huawei’s claims.
